The Derby was the weekend before we went to Louisville, but we decided that it wouldn't be a proper trip without a visit to Churchill Downs.
Tickets. Check. (for free, thank you hotel concierge)
Preppy Atire. Check.
Mint Juleps. Check.
Mint Juleps in Official Derby Cups. Check.
Betting. Check.
I think we did it right!
We were a little surprised by all the dirty gamblers and lack of bow ties, but overall it was an experience worth having.
PS: The numbers beside the horses names aren't their rankings, it's just their team number. Needless to say, we did not win anything.
