Five on Friday

It's Fridayyyy, it's fridayyyy, woo hoo! I actually took today off because we have two of our best friends in town from SC. We're going to spend the day being total tourists since they have never been to DC. Stay tuned in on Snapchat (@ephilli) as we go around the city today.

I'm SO excited about my first Five on Friday. Our friends Will and Catherine's completely adorable apartment (+completely adorable doodle Pippa) are featured over on Southern Weddings today
Catherine is also launching a blog which you can get a peek at here. Fun fact, we actually met this gorgeous couple when Catherine emailed me from seeing our home tour on Southern Weddings. Now we've become fast friends!

{TWO}
I recently discovered the shop LaRoque out of Charleston and I'm obsessed with everything! My favorites being the top below that I saw on their Instagram, this light pink buffalo check top and this dress that's perfect for Carolina Cup (where Ryan and I met). The clothes aren't cheap, but considering what I'm willing to buy a Lilly top or dress for, these aren't any more expensive.

Brunch with Sully's bestie. We went to brunch last weekend with Sully's bestie who is in the nanny share with us. We went to Bar Deco and it was delish! I would highly recommend it to anyone in DC looking for a good brunch. It's a really cool vibe and the food was so yummy. See Maya's (who took the adorable pics below) full recap on her blog here. It was the perfect prep for Sully's first birthday theme, Babies who Brunch, which you can read more about here

I'm already dreaming of warmer temps and fell in love with this pink and palm dress from Express, especially for the $88 price tag!
{FIVE}
Finally, there is SO much more to come on this topic, but this week Ryan and I booked our five year anniversary trip!! We're going to Rome, the Amalfi Coast and Paris. I hesitate to even say Rome because we're really just flying in to this beautiful city and only spending about 24 hours before we head to the Amalfi Coast. 

Have any tips/suggestions for us as we plan things out in more detail? We haven't booked lodging yet, so would love any suggestions on that topic! Huge thanks to those on my Instagram who have already weighed in!

Sully's First Birthday Party Inspiration

I can't even handle the title of this post, how oh how can I really be planning Sully's first birthday party?! Yes, she's only 10 months old right now, but we have a whirlwind of a few months coming up so I'm in full party planning mode now. We're also having Sully's party back in my hometown which is states away, so I'm trying to get everything settled from afar in advance. 

It's no big surprise I'm turning to Pinterest for inspiration for her first birthday and it's definitely helped already knowing we'll have the theme of "Babies who Brunch" since we're holding it on a Sunday morning. So, here's what I have in mind...

Meet Pillowfort, Target's New Home Collection for Kids

Happy Hump Dayyyyyy!

Y'all know how much of a home junkie I am and nurseries are by far one of my favorite spaces to design (see Sully's here, here, here). When I saw that Target had launched their home collection for kids called Pillowfort, I was automatically smitten. I might have to pick some of these up for myself too, they're just too cute and affordable.

Home Sourcing Guide: Dining Room

Hi friends! Back today with another home sourcing guide, this time for the dining room. You can see the original post here where I shared the photos and sourcing info for our living room. I have Liz Fogarty photography to thank for these gorgeous photos that we did for the Southern Wedding blog.
The dining room is one of my favorite rooms as it holds two of my favorite pieces of furniture (can you guess which ones?). It also has the gallery wall in it which is full of personal favorites. Especially the Kentucky painting that we got on our one year wedding anniversary which we discovered had the name Sullivan (the artist's last name) on it halfway through my pregnancy. I even took my monthly bump pictures with this painting behind me not knowing it had my daughter's name on it all along. 
Round Table: My very talented Mother-In-Law bought this table at Habitat for Humanity and refinished it, how lucky am I?! You can find a similar one here.

Easy, Low Carb Bacon & Goat Cheese Egg "Muffins"

This is the year of the wedding for us my friends (9 in total so far!) which means lots of dress fittings and fun celebrations. In fact, two of my best friends are actually getting married on the same day, which also happens to be our five year anniversary. Craziness! To prep for all the fun, Ry and I have been doing the low carb diet thing (insert eye roll emoji). At least as much as we can while still enjoying an occasional brunch and not being "that person" at dinner with friends - "I'll take the burger, but no bun, no tomato, what's in your special sauce(?), oh and no fries, can you do a side salad, but make sure there's no croutons". 

Mornings are the hardest for me when I love to grab (a greasy egg and cheese biscuit) and go. To make sure we stay on track, I make these egg "muffins" each week. Y'all they are the easiest thing in the world, you can literally use whatever is in your fridge and they are warm and yummy in the AM, so I feel fulfilled. My favorite combo just happens to be bacon and goat cheese. Don't worry though, there's also some greens and chia seeds in there to make sure you're being somewhat healthy. 
Here's the step-by-step guide which takes all of 5-10 minutes to do before baking for 15-20 minutes. Excuse the not so cute pics y'all, it was a Sunday Funday, stay in your pajamas all day day for me when I took these.

Step One: 
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and spray a regular size muffin tin with cooking spray (preferably more accurately than I am below ;)). 
Step Two:
Grab a dozen eggs plus a cheese, protein and greens from your fridge (+chia seeds if you have them). 
Step Three:
Crack and whisk your dozen eggs.
Step Four:
Add the chia seeds (a hearty handful), bacon bits (half the bag), cheese (1/4 cup) and greens. 
As you can tell, I don't have accurate measurements and just eyeball it usually. For the greens, I just take handfuls and twist and tear them into smaller pieces and incorporate in my egg mixture.
Step Five:
Ladle your mixture into the muffin tin.
Step Six:
Bake for 15-20 minutes at 350 degrees. I would check in on them at 15 minutes, jiggle the pan and see if the egg is still runny, if so add 2 minutes and keep doing that until they're more firm. 
Step Seven:
Let them cool in the pan for a few minute then use a fork to break from the edge and pop out. I let them sit on their sides in the pan for a little while to fully cool down before putting them in a ziplock freezer bag. 
Step Eight:
When you're ready to eat each morning, just grab one out of the bag from the freezer and microwave for one minute. 
Like I mentioned above, I don't really have exact measurements, but tried to give my best guess:

EASY, LOW CARB BACON & GOAT CHEESE EGG "MUFFINS"

Ingredients:
12 Eggs
1/2 Bag Real Bacon Bits
3 Tbsp Chia Seeds
1/4 Cup Goat Cheese
1 Cup Greens
Cooking Spray
Muffin Tin

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 and spray your muffin tin
2. Assemble your ingredients
3. Crack and whisk your dozen eggs
4. Add your bacon, chia, goat cheese, greens to the egg mixture
5. Laddle the egg mixture into muffin tins, filling 3/4 of the way 
6. Bake for 15-20 minutes
7. Let them cool in the pan, breaking the edges and flipping them on their side. Put them in a freezer bag and freeze.
8. When you're ready to cook, put them in the microwave for one minute
