Wow, what an awesome first Father's Day we had!
We had a lazy Sunday morning, sleeping in and going to 11am mass where we had our first experience in the quiet room in the back. What a different church experience that is haha! Anyone have tips on how to keep your focus with little ones beebopping around and crying?
After mass, we went and ate at a local brunch favorite, Westwood Pharmacy. It seems weird to eat in a pharmacy, but it's just down home goodness and reminds me of the meat and threes back in SC. I went out of the box and ordered a gyro this time and it was amazing!!
That morning, I dressed Sully and I in Lilly exclaiming to Ryan that it was National Wear Lilly Day and wouldn't you know, out he came in a Lilly tie too! Then just to show that he's even more of an amazing and selfless man, after Westwood, he surprised us by driving right to Pink Palm to celebrate.
I ended up nabbing a popover that was on sale (can't find it online, but included similar below), along with this button down dress while we were there. Ladies who are breastfeeding understand how exciting it is to find something so cute and functional for feedings while you're out and about. Is it weird I'm going to wear this as a normal dress, not a coverup as it looks like they intend?
I also have my name down to get this top when it comes in in my size. It's so cute, comfy and only $48!
Then we headed home to change and packed mimosas with SC peaches that my parents brought up with them and headed to the driving range, yum! We got in a good amount of balls before it just got really too hot and we needed to take Sully home.
We finished out the day with the US Open (poor Dustin) and snuggles. It was perfect! I'm so glad we could celebrate my hubby with such a great day. He's really stepped into fatherhood with so much ease. My love for him has grown immensely and taken our relationship to a whole other level since baby girl came along.
As a small token of appreciation we got him Jimmy Fallon's new children's book Your Baby's First Word Will Be DADA and a personalized garment bag for his suits since he's traveling for work so much now.
How was your Father's Day?! Let me know what you think about my questions above!
PS: How cute is Sully in the hammock at Lake Anna where we went to celebrate a family friend's wedding?! (photo cred to my Mama!)
