Home Sourcing Guide: #GirlBoss Office

What a week! I just got back from SXSW after being gone for five days and I am just so exhausted you guys. It was an amazing week full of learnings and networking, but I am so happy to be home with my little family. I'm also gearing up for our Ohio family to come into town Friday-Tuesday, so that's getting my sprits up and running again!

I've missed connecting here on the blog with you too, so today I'm excited to share the details of my feminine #girlboss of an office. So first, why #girlboss?

I just finished reading the book #GIRLBOSS by Nasty Gal founder Sophia Amoruso (soon to be a Netflix series!), hence the inspiration of this post title. It was a quick and inspiring read (perfect on a plane bound for a work function). I mean, she went from dumpster diving to having a multi-million dollar business that was started on eBay all by the age of 27, pretty amazing. Her story really is a rags-to-riches inspiration for women in any situation, whether you're your own boss or just the boss of your inbox.

Now, on to the sourcing guide for said office. Ryan got his man cave, so I decided to make the spare bedroom all my own. Even though I don't work from home all that often, it's a great place to write blog posts and catch up on email when Sully is sleeping. Plus, with such little closets in the original house upstairs, the re-done rooms and closets downstairs have much more space, so naturally I claimed the walk-in closet in this room all for myself. It's a multi-functioning office, changing room and guest room!

Curtains: Ikea
(only $25 for 2 panels!)

Curtain Rod: Target

Chalkboard File Wall Hanging: Homegoods
(similar Williams Sonoma one here on sale)

Desk: Ikea
(we got the same drawers on both sides, instead of one shelf)

Pink Chair: Pottery Barn
(I found it at a thrift shop and spray painted it pink)

Office Chair: Target

Throw Blanket: Joss and Main
(I like this Target one too)

Frame on Desk: Lilly

Pink Candle: Homegoods
(similar high end, low end)

Paper Notebooks: Lilly
(was a gift with purchase, but I love this colorful Moleskin)

Tray: Target
(discontinued, but love this gold dot acrylic one)

Pens: BIC

When this room is not an office or my dressing room, it is a great place for excess guests with the daybed and trundle. If you need a way for two guests to sleep in a small space, this daybed with a trundle was under $300 and has been the perfect solution.

Daybed: Wayfair
(on sale at Target)

White Seersucker Duvet Set: H&M
(only $35!)

White and Pink Trellis Pillows: Etsy
(no longer available, but love these)

Orange Pillows: Etsy
(no longer available, but love this outdoor pillow)

Purple and Orage Pillows: Johnathan Adler for JC Penny
(no longer available, but love this purple tassel flamingo pillow)

Mongolian Faux Fur Pillow: Homegoods
