Happy Easter everyone! I hope you all have had as good of an Easter as we have. My family drove up to VA from SC for the weekend and it was so nice to have us all back together. Although, quite a few members of my family were sad that a certain little bunny wasn't born today. I guess there's still time technically, but no baby girl yet...
I love this holiday so much because it reminds me of God's love for us and really feels like a fresh start! How blessed are we?! I'm grateful beyond words for so much this year, especially recently with all of our friends and family who have reached out and with the exciting arrival of our little angel soon.
To start out this great day, we went to 7:30 mass and then swung by Sugar Shack which is my little brother's favorite donut shop in RVA. Donuts have for sure been a big craving of mine, so I definitely didn't object when he suggested we pick up a dozen after mass :).
When we got home the "Easter Bunny" came with some pretty sweet gifts and treats. All of us got a little something from Southern Fried Cotton along with our favorite candies. And do you guys remember The Country Bunny from when you were little?! This was one of my favorite books and a good friend gave it to me recently, we made sure to read it today.
Even the pups got into the Easter spirit!
Ryan proceeded to make the yummiest meal ever, my favorite was the lamb shank that he braised for three hours. He followed this recipe here.
While Ryan was cooking, we all got caught up in a game of Boggle. Granted, it was all on our own individual devices where my brother downloaded the app for each of us.
After lunch, most of my family got on the road home, but my Mom is staying until our little one arrives. We found out last week that my doc would like to induce me on April 15th if our girl hasn't arrived by then. This is four days before my due date, but with the swelling and other preeclampsia signs I've had they don't want me going too far past 39 weeks.
I really don't want to be induced, so I've been trying some natural remedies to get this little girl moving. I've tried raspberry leaf tea daily, had Ryan and Mom massage some acupressure points, walked when the swelling has gone down and I'm also going to get acupuncture. Am I being crazy? Mamas, have you ever tried any of these? What has actually worked for you?
