Holiday Preggo Bumpdate

I had very grand plans of taking weekly update pics and then posting them monthly. Yet here I am in week 25 and haven't done that at. all. I still don't want to miss out on remembering this fun time though, so I'm going to start with a holiday preggo "bumpdate" in hopes of doing them monthly from here on out :).

Here's how Baby and Mama have been progressing and feeling over the holidays...

Baby Size: She's grown from the size of a sweet potato at Thanksgiving to now being the size of a cauliflower today!

I'm Feeling: Pregnant! Baby Movements! It's amazing how much my belly has really, really "popped" over the past few weeks, not to mention how much little girl is moving now! It went from being small kicks in my lower stomach to much bigger ones all over the place. The best is when Ry gets to feel or see the movement.

Food Love: Apples, Cookies, String Cheese, Cuties, Sprinkle Donuts (must be sprinkle) and H20 galore!

Wardrobe: I'm still able to cling on to some of my non-maternity tops, dresses, PJs (like the cute xmas ones below!) and yoga pants. I'm finding though that I look pregnant (vs. just having a food baby) and am MUCH more comfortable in maternity wear.
Nicknames: Baby P, Prosciutto, Pumpkin, Baby Girl, Little Miss, KimberLori. Thank my mother for this last one - her name is Kimberly and my MIL's name is Lori. She's decided this is the name of our little lady, HA.
Photos: Here's some of my fav preggo photos from over the holidays!

We went to Wintergreen for Thanksgiving with my MIL and SIL and got SO much snow!
When I found out we were having a girl, I couldn't resist visiting our local Lilly store, Pink Palm!
Right before Christmas, we headed down to Charleston for one of my best friend's weddings. It was so beautiful and I was so honored to stand by her side. More photos to come on that one!
We then headed home to Camden and Greenville for my birthday and Christmas.
My best friend, maid of honor and one of my closest gal pals since 9th grade came back to RVA with us the week after Christmas and before she flew back to San Diego. It was AMAZING to have her with  me for so long! To see our New Year's celebrations, check out this blog post.
Hopefully now I'll get off to a better start and post more bumpdates, stay tuned!

Nursery Inspiration Board

I'm officially in the crazy pregnant lady nesting phase (sorry hubs). I have a lot of grand plans for our little girl's nursery, even though I know she'll be bedside in our room for quite awhile in the beginning.

While thinking through what little miss's nursery should look like, I quickly found that I'm really NOT into all the pastels, flowers, rainbows, overly glitzy, girlie rooms and baby items. And I hate butterflies, why do I hate butterfly designs with a passion?! That considered, I started designing a more sophisticated, but fun room. I also wanted to be careful not to go overly girlie in case there's a little man in our future too.

So drumroll please, here's my inspiration board for our little girl's room...
Left paint color, Martha Stewart "Peony" / Right paint color, Sherwin Williams "Accessible Beige" / Ceiling Light / Tassels / Giraffe / Garden Stool / Crib / Lamp / Banana leaf plant from Home Depot / Ikat fabric (similar) / Rug / Rocker / Moroccan Pouf
Spoiler alert, the coral paint color on the left is actually for the CEILING! I want to keep the nursery overall neutral, but had to add a little funk with the colored ceiling. We already have the Accessible Beige paint, so I think I'm going to try to make that work for the walls.

It all started with the crib which we found on sale at Pottery Barn Kids even before we knew the gender. I loved the grey and also that this one was super simple, sturdy, adjustable and converts into a toddler bed. Oh and I cried when we were in the store, gotta love pregnancy hormones! Ryan thought it was funny and took pictures of me.
Then my amazing MIL gifted us the giraffe when we found it on sale on Black Friday, I'm so in love with this guy! I also already have the rug and Ikat fabric. I found the rug on Craigslist for super cheap compared to any at the large size I was looking for online. The Ikat fabric I got for $2.50 at a local decorating outlet, I'll use this to curtain off a built-in that we'll use for a changing table.

To give you an idea of the room we're transforming, here are some "before" pics with some of the items already in the room (apologize for the horrible lighting, ugh). Don't mind the mess either, I'm still unpacking this already spoiled little girl's gifts!
(this built-in will function as her changing table and I'll curtain off the bottom to hide diapers, etc.)
Because I can't resist sharing all the amazingness of others that inspired this room, check out more rooms like the below that I saved on my Pinterest board.

Here's where I need your help, I've still yet to find the glider (which, omg, can't believe how expensive these things are), moroccan pouf, light for the ceiling and garden stool at reasonable prices. If you have suggestions of where to search, please send them my way!

Let me know what you think!!

It's 2015 Y'all!

Happy 2015!!! I can't believe 2014 is already behind us and that this is the year that our baby girl will be arrive in April!

My morning yesterday started out perfect when the house was quiet and I took a bit of time to reflect on the year, get in reading my favorite magazine and sipped a little tea under my coziest blanket. This little girl is always quite active in the mornings when I first wake up and get some water and breakfast.
Later that night, we had a great time watching the ball drop with some of our closest friends here in RVA. It was especially exciting because I had my west coast bestie in town from San Diego.
Even though we stayed in, NYE is always a great excuse to get all gussied up! I almost forgot my tradition of wearing my wedding shoes that Ryan bought in Chicago. I heart red bottoms!
I decided to leave all the Christmas decor up from our gender reveal party to get the most out of it before it goes back in the attic for the year. I did incorporate some New Year bubbles, champagne and crowns though to get us in the excited.
We of course did a mini photo shoot before we started noshing on dinner and goodies leading up to the ball drop.
For dinner, Ryan made a delicious pot roast with collards and everyone else brought delicious sides, apps and desserts. I've had quite the sweet tooth with this little one and my sweet friends catered right to it with Sugar Shack donuts and homemade ice cream and cookie sandwiches made by Mike!
We all counted down to 2015 and popped champagne to celebrate!
I loved hearing everyone's New Year's resolutions and one of my favorites from Anna was to put away the phone and be more present. This is one that I know I definitely need to work on this year. Ryan and I declared though that our biggest resolution this year is to be patient and good parents. I think this one is pretty big and if we can succeed in this I'll consider 2015 to be one blessed and amazing year.

So what are your resolutions and New Year's traditions?
